The national standard drafted by Xingyu - GB 39800.5-2023 'Specification for the Provision of Personal Protective Equipment Part 5: Building Materials' will be implemented from January 1, 2025.
GB 39800.5-2023 'Specification for the Provision of Personal Protective Equipment Part 5: Building Materials' is a current mandatory national standard and an important part of the GB 39800 'Specification for the Provision of Personal Protective Equipment' standard series.
What aspects does the new standard regulate and require?
General requirements:
It specifies the overall requirements for the provision, management, and process of personal protective equipment (i.e., labor protection products) for various employers in the building materials industry.
Identification and assessment of hazard factors:
Employers should identify and assess the hazard factors that may be involved in their production process according to the characteristics of safety production in the building materials industry, in accordance with the requirements of GB 39800.1-2020 section 4.2.
Selection, tracking, disposal, and replacement of personal protective equipment:
It clarifies that different enterprises, different production processes, and different levels of automation may require different personal protective equipment even for the same type of work.
Scope of application:
It applies to the provision and management of personal protective equipment for all employers and their employees in the building materials industry, but does not apply to the provision and management of firefighting personal protective equipment for employers in the building materials industry.
